JD Vance Says His Life ‘Transformed’ Since Taking Office, Has ‘People Willing to Cook Me My Food’

JD Vance is sharing some insight into his lifestyle.

The vice president, 41 appeared on the Wednesday, July 8 episode of Mike Rowe‘s The Way I Heard It podcast and discussed how his life has changed since taking office.

“My life is — dude, totally transformed. I don’t go to the grocery store anymore; people go to the grocery store for me,” JD remarked. “I like to cook for my kids as a special occasion, but I don’t have to cook anymore because I have an army of people willing to cook me my food.”

“My life is so weird. I fly around on a 757,” he continued, referring to Air Force Two. “No more TSA lines for me and the kids.”

Despite the luxurious lifestyle he and his wife, Usha Vance, and their kids are enjoying, the Ohio native noted that he thinks his late grandmother, whom he calls “Mamaw,” wouldn’t want it to get to his head.

“It’s so weird, but it can become the sort of thing that if you internalize it, you start to be entitled,” he admitted. “And I think that’s the thing that Mamaw would really be insistent on is don’t become entitled about this.”

“Recognize it’s cool. It’s a blessing,” JD continued. “Obviously, it comes along with duties and responsibilities.”

The Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family author — who came from humble beginnings — said his Mamaw “would be very proud” of him and “would also make sure that I didn’t get too big for my britches.”
