Paige Spiranac says someone took her golf swing and gave it to an AI-generated stand-in.
The golf influencer, who has four million followers on Instagram, called out a viral video on X that appeared to lift her swing motion and place it on a digitally generated woman. Spiranac, 33, regularly posts videos of her own swing, which have built a large following online.
The video, shared Sunday, July 5, on social media, has racked up 850,000 views and shows a woman in an outfit similar to what Spiranac often wears, complete with a Florida Gators cap, an orange top and teal shorts. The account that posted it captioned it, “Go Gators.”
After being alerted to the clip, the next day Spiranac responded, “They are stealing my exact swing video and putting an AI girl over it. It’s weird lol.”

Recently, Spiranac had to push back on a separate round of AI accusations. After she shared a festive Fourth of July photo on X, some fans questioned, one follower wrote, “Paige you’re better than AI.” Spiranac replied, “Not AI. This image was from my 2026 calendar. We shot it in studio and then a graphic designer made the background.”
As Globe previously reported, Spiranac is set to return to the Internet Invitational following a 2025 cheating controversy that erupted after she was caught on camera flattening grass in front of a teammate’s ball. She later said she was embarrassed by the mistake, explaining that she had been unaware she had violated a rule and never intended to cheat.

The backlash quickly escalated into tens of thousands of online death threats and abusive messages, becoming so severe that she considered seeking a restraining order.
According to MyGolfSpy, this year’s Internet Invitational purse has grown to $4 million, up from $1 million last year, and will again feature 48 players, though the date and location have not yet been announced.
