Disney Cast Member Seen Getting Pummeled by 400-Lb Prop Boulder: ‘He Literally Saved Our Lives’

A Disney World worker is being called a hero after trying to divert a large prop boulder that appeared to fall off track and endanger audience members at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular in Florida.

A TikTok video shared Tuesday, December 30, captured the scary incident, in which a man can be seen racing to stop the boulder — said to weigh approximately 400 pounds — and falling to the ground after it hit him.

When other staffers rushed to help, blood appeared to be coming from his head.

“He literally saved our lives,” an audience member could be heard saying off camera, adding that the boulder was coming towards them until the man stopped it from hitting the fans.

According to journalist Scott Gustin, the boulder dislodged from its track, and the cast member was injured but “received immediate care and is recovering.”

In an update posted to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Gustin said that a Disney spokesperson said that the element in the show will now be changed.

“We’re focused on supporting our cast member, who is recovering,” the statement read. “Safety is at the heart of what we do, and that element of the show will be modified as our safety team completes a review of what happened.”

An X user by the name of Ashley Suit identified the “heroic” cast member as “our dear friend Robert.”

According to Suit, “He received 6 stitches but is recovering in the hospital. He’s a former stunt man and his quick thinking saved many. Please keep him in your prayers.”

The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! is a live show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando that opened in August 1989 and is based on the Indiana Jones film franchise.
