Parent Trap pop Dennis Quaid admits he tossed and turned until he knew for certain that his 17-year-old daughter was safe amid the deadly floods that recently ravaged Texas.
Houston native Quaid, 71, shared his story with Fox News Digital, revealing that his child Zoe was working as a counselor at a camp not far from the fatal floods at Camp Mystic, which killed at least 27 youngsters and staffers in the early morning hours of July 4.

“Hill County in Texas is a magical place … especially for children going to camp there. It’s a cherished memory you carry with you all your life,” Quaid tells Fox contributor Kellyanne Conway. “My daughter was actually a few miles away from Mystic … further north. Thankfully, their camp was okay.”
The Sovereign star, who shares Zoe and her twin brother, Thomas, with his third ex-wife, Kimberly Buffington, recalls learning about the dangerous deluge from the overflowing Guadalupe River as he was about to turn in for the night and adds, “I tried to call her because I knew she was up there.”
“I knew it wasn’t near where the floods were, but I wasn’t able to talk to her till the next day. I didn’t really get a lot of sleep that night.”

While Quaid was relieved that Zoe was out of harm’s way, he offered his condolences to Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and his family, whose 9-year-old cousin Janie perished, as well as others who lost loved ones.
The Reagan headliner revealed that he and wife Laura Savoie are friends of the Hunts and says, “My heart goes out to everybody. My heart goes out to the Hunt family. Janie Hunt, who was lost that weekend. I can’t imagine how devastating that would be. None of us can.”
