The future of 60 Minutes is reportedly a concern within CBS, with sources saying ongoing turmoil has sparked difficult conversations about whether the show can survive.
Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack published a report on Tuesday, June 2, revealing that concerns about the program are growing behind the scenes at the network.
“The conversation has changed,” one source told the outlet. “It used to be, ‘How do we fix 60 Minutes?’ Now it’s, ‘Is it even worth fixing?'”

The show has been rocked by internal battles that have spilled into public view, including veteran correspondents clashing with management, the departure of top producers, and a newsroom morale collapse that sources describe as severe.
“The new owners wanted a different tone for the show,” a source says. “Instead, they inherited a newsroom at war with itself.”
“Viewers are hearing more about firings, feuds and power struggles than they are about the stories being reported,” an insider notes.
After decades as one of television’s most respected and successful news programs, 60 Minutes is reportedly facing an uncertain future, with sources saying all options remain under consideration.
“If the drama continues,” a network source warns, “nothing is off the table, including cancellation.”
No final decision has been made, insiders stress, but the fact that cancellation is even being discussed marks a stunning shift for a program that has been a CBS Sunday night fixture since 1968.
