Danny Masterson has been abandoned by most of Hollywood as he rots behind bars, but Globe has learned some high-profile pals are still in his corner.
The fallen 49-year-old actor — a renowned Church of Scientology member — was popular in Tinseltown before a jury convicted him in 2023 of raping two women at the height of his That ’70s Show fame.
While Masterson appeals his conviction, his sitcom costars remain divided in their support, sources say.
An insider reveals, “The cast is on totally different pages when it comes to Danny, his chances to reverse his conviction, and his overall character.”
“The guy has lost everything, including his freedom, and some friends from his heyday are utterly sympathetic and want to help him, while others couldn’t care less.”

“Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are still die-hard supporters, but Danny has a lot of non-famous industry people in that camp too.”
His ex Bijou Phillips is definitely not in that camp. Days after he was handed a sentence of 30 years to life, she slapped him with divorce papers. In October, she filed to remove his last name from that of their 11-year-old daughter, per People.

Although Masterson hopes to clear his name and walk out of jail a free man, most folks in the entertainment world consider him a predator and a pariah — and several costars are reportedly hesitant to offer their support.
“Laura Prepon is more cautious than Ashton and Mila about publicly showing support because her career can’t withstand a lot of public relations damage,” claims an insider. “Still, she was incredibly close to Danny from the show’s first day and that support never broke down.”
But, the insider continues: “Topher Grace, who was the show’s lead, can barely contain his disdain for Danny. He’s fine with the idea of him rotting in prison.”

Another source confirms Wilmer Valderrama hasn’t spoken to Danny for years even before he was accused of his heinous crimes.
“With the series’ 30th anniversary coming up in a few years, it’s almost impossible to imagine getting even half this cast together to celebrate in some way,” the source says. “They’re tortured over their differences about Danny and his character. It’s a tricky situation.”
