Criss Angel and Ex Shaunyl Benson Trade Shots On Social Media Amid Messy Split

There are two sides to every story. On Friday, Criss Angel took to Instagram to ask his fans to unfollow his partner of 12 years, Shaunyl Benson. But just an hour later, those who went to her page to do so found the lengthy video she posted in response.

“To my fans and friends, I’m sure by now you recognized that I’m going through something personal. Today I stopped following a narcissist – somebody who destroyed a beautiful family in pursuit of another man,” wrote the 57-year-old magician. He asked fans to “follow my lead,” and unfollow Benson, whom he married in 2015. The pair divorced one year later, but eventually got back together, reports the New York Post.  In 2023, Angel proposed to Benson again.

In her own video, Benson, 34, elaborated on the on-and-off nature of their relationship, saying that despite “infidelity” being “very present,” she “turned a blind eye” and stayed for the couple’s three children, Johnny, 11, Xristos Yanni, 6, and Illusia, 3. She said that “about four years ago,” she learned that “there were young girls having to send really intense things, really personal, disgusting—not disgusting, just really heart shattering—things to their boss.” After learning this information “I started to detach,” she revealed. “I should’ve left then.”

Benson then explained that the “other man” Angel referred to is “a rockstar” she DMed with because she was “lonely.” According to her, that man is now in another relationship.

“Me leaving now has nothing to do with anybody else,” said Benson. “I want to change my life and nobody’s going to do that for me.”
