Real Housewives of New York City alum Bethenny Frankel shared her thoughts following the shocking deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.
In an Instagram Reel shared Monday, December 16, the Skinnygirl founder, 55, told followers to “err on the side of caution” when it comes to dealing with a family member or friend who could possibly be experiencing mental health issues.
As Globe previously reported, the When Harry Met Sally… director, 78, and his wife, 70, were found brutally murdered in their Brentwood home with their throats reportedly slit on Sunday, December 14, and their son Nick Reiner is “responsible for their deaths,” per an announcement from the LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division.

Nick, 32, has previously opened up about his struggles with addiction and homelessness.
“The Rob Reiner tragedy has reminded me of something that I already know to be true, which is that if you feel something — if you feel alarmed by something — and something makes you uncomfortable, and you think of the unfathomable…” the reality star said.
“If you see something, you say something, or you avoid something, or you protect yourself,” Frankel continued. “’I’ve had situations where I’ve felt in threat of danger, and I have acted accordingly, and maybe something never would have happened — because most things don’t happen — but some things do happen.”

“Mental illness and addiction, insanity or temporary insanity, and rage and jealousy, and all of these things that we see are cautionary tales because it could happen to you,” she concluded.
While many people in the comments section of Frankel’s post agreed with her stance, some felt she was prematurely weighing in on the tragedy.
“Careful, This sounds like victim blaming,” one person wrote. “Too soon B too soon.”
In response, Frankel simply said, “You literally are on the wrong street.”

The All in the Family alum and his wife had reportedly told friends they were “scared” and increasingly worried that “his mental state was deteriorating,” according to the Daily Mail.
The National Enquirer reported that the Reiners had a guest staying at their home who left just prior to the heinous crime “because of how insane [Nick] was acting,” according to a source.
