Luigi Mangione may get to enjoy a special meal behind bars this Christmas.
The December 25 menu for the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where the 27-year-old is awaiting trial for the murder of UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson, was obtained by People and published on Tuesday, December 16.
For breakfast, which starts at 6 a.m., Mangione will be presented with the options of fruit, cereal, “non-breakfast pasty” and skim milk.

Christmas lunch will be served at 11 a.m. Inmates will get a choice between a baked Cornish hen or barbecue tofu along with macaroni and cheese or spinach. In addition, Mangione will get cranberry sauce, a beverage and a choice between two dinner rolls or an unspecified “holiday dessert.”
Mangione’s likely choice is an easy guess: He once touted “Chicken Thursdays, and Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce” in a list of things he was grateful for, obtained by TMZ. “Sorry vegans,” he added. “It’s the realest food here, and I need my strength.”

Dinner is just after 4 p.m. and much less festive: two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, potato chips, whole wheat bread, fruit and a beverage.
