Annette Bening’s career is going great guns with a calendar full of work, but insiders say her hubby — Bugsy superstar Warren Beatty — is feeling ignored and raining on her parade.
Sources say the 88-year-old former Warren has turned into a “recluse who hates travel,” even if it’s down the block, and has begun to resent his now more famous 67-year-old wife.
“Warren was fine to step back from Hollywood and let Annette pursue her acting career many years ago because it allowed him to spend time with their kids,” says an insider.
“But they’re all grown and doing their own thing, and he’s got nothing to do besides putter around the house.”

“He’s turned into this stuffy shut-in and recluse who hates to travel, and it seems to their friends that he’s almost resentful of his wife’s success even though he was the one who encouraged her early on.”
“Annette has a lot of work, her plate is always full, so it stands to reason she’s glad to get away from him and his moods.”
“But people wonder how it’s affecting their marriage.”
Warren and Annette fell in love while shooting the 1991 mobster drama Bugsy. Before that he was Hollywood’s top Don Juan — seducing oodles of famous beauties including Joan Collins, Natalie Wood, Julie Christie, Diane Keaton and Madonna.
But he recalls to Entertainment Weekly: “When I met Annette over lunch for Bugsy, I felt immediately that this was going to change my life.”
“I remember losing interest in the garlic chicken I was eating within 20 seconds. And the garlic chicken had been very good!”

They wed in 1992 and had kids Stephen, 33, Benjamin, 31, Isabel, 28, and Ella, 25.
Now, Annette’s star is shining brighter.
“Warren’s even too shy to leave the house,” says an insider.

In March 2024, the former stud wouldn’t travel to New York for their daughter Ella’s Broadway debut in the Tony-winning play Appropriate.
And Annette has landed a plum role in TV’s Yellowstone spinoff The Dutton Ranch, starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, according to Variety.
Adds the insider, “Warren is a sensitive, miserable soul and getting worse by the year, and how long this situation can last is anyone’s guess.”
