After White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that she will be exiting her position at the end of the month, the 80-year-old president weighed in on who would be the best person to replace her.
In a post shared on Thursday, August 20, to his Truth Social account, the former reality TV star shared a photo of himself speaking to reporters at the White House and wrote on top: “The Best Press Secretary.”
At the time of publication, Trump’s post received nearly 10,000 likes on the platform.
As Globe previously reported, Leavitt — who just recently returned from maternity leave following the birth of her second child earlier this year — said the decision to leave her job came after she realized she couldn’t balance the professional demands while raising young children.
Leavitt — who shares son Nico, 2, and daughter Vivi, 3 months, with husband Nicholas Riccio — shared a lengthy statement to X, writing that serving as the White House press secretary “has been the honor and adventure of a lifetime.”

Though Trump deleted the post after swift backlash, he said, “I did post it. I thought it was me as a doctor.”
