Tom Cruise has become a Hollywood legend for performing his own death-defying stunts in his action flicks — and according to a source, his rumored girlfriend Ana de Armas is concerned that he may push himself too far.

“Ana’s in awe of Tom and what he’s pulled off over the years, but now that they’ve gotten close, it puts a whole new light on things and she can’t help but worry that he’s going to get seriously hurt one day,” a source exclusively tells Globe.

“He’s about to turn 63 and still throwing himself out of helicopters and dangling from buildings like he’s invincible,” continues the source. “She’s seen the prep videos, the insane training routines, and heard him talk about his plans to push the stunts even further in upcoming projects, and it’s all left her with major anxiety.”

While Cruise “insists he’s going to be doing this stuff well into his 70s,” the Ballerina actress, 37, simply wants him to “be more cautious” when it comes to his stunt work, the source explains.

“There’s zero chance Ana’s going to talk him into slowing down, but that doesn’t mean she has to like it,” the source adds. “She’s told friends she winces every time he talks about jumping off another skyscraper or clinging to the side of a jet. It’s very hard to see him putting his life at risk this way.”

This comes following reports that the Top Gun actor is itching to star in a risky new project about deep-sea diving alongside de Armas some time in the near future. The upcoming thriller is set to be helmed by director Doug Liman, per Deadline, and follows the story of an astronaut “who encounters a terrifying force while on a deep dive into a never-before-explored trench.”

However, an insider suggested it may have been difficult to convince major production companies to take on the project.

“Big Hollywood studios are utterly paranoid about movies that involve a lot of deep water action,” an insider told the National Enquirer in July. “These films always go over-budget, they’re harder to insure and a million more things can go wrong in an aquatic film set than when you’re on terra firma in a soundstage.”

On top of that, de Armas has yet to fully prove herself in the genre.

“Ana did well in James Bond back in 2021,” the insider shared, referring to her role in No Time to Die, “but she isn’t an action movie brand name just yet.”
