Timothee Chalamet Using Kylie Jenner Relationship for Publicity: ‘It’s Very Strategic’ (Exclusive)

Timothée Chalamet appears to be taking a page out of momager Kris Jenner’s playbook.

The 30-year-old actor is more than happy to use his relationship with Kylie Jenner for publicity, a source tells Globe, whether that’s showing up to the Los Angeles premiere of Marty Supreme in matching orange outfits or giving the reality TV star, 28, a shoutout in his awards season acceptance speeches.

“It’s very strategic,” says the source, noting that the photo ops and public declarations “generate so much press” for Chalamet and his movie.

The two-time Academy Award nominee is even fine getting tips from Kylie’s mother, 70, on his marketing strategy, adds the source. “Timmy knows Kris is brilliant at publicity and he wants to win this Oscar race.”

But that’s where it stops.

“There is no tit-for-tat,” reveals the source. “Timmy is not willing to turn around and help promote their brand by taking part in the show. Reality TV is a hard no for him.”

As is a wedding special, should he and Kylie ever walk down the aisle.

“Timmy thinks he’s above it,” admits the source. “He’s also terrified of getting swallowed up by the Kardashian curse. Everyone has seen what happens to the men that get too close to that family and lose control of their image.”

As Globe previously reported, Chalamet skipped Jenner’s star-studded 70th birthday bash on Saturday, November 8, leaving Kylie to attend solo.

“If Kylie wants to be with him, it’s going to be on his terms,” says the source, “and that means very little involvement with her family.”
