Tiger Woods’ Son Charlie Loses Golf Tournament After Fan’s Camera Click Distracts Him During Swing

Tiger Woods‘ son, Charlie Woods, had an unfortunate distraction during a recent golf tournament.

The 17-year-old competed in the U.S. Junior Amateur at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and made it to the playoff on Wednesday, July 22, according to The Athletic.

During the stroke-play portion of the event, Charlie — who is committed to play golf at Florida State University — shot rounds of 76 and 70, which earned him a spot in the sudden-death playoff early Wednesday morning, the outlet reported. Charlie was up against 13 other players who tied with him, and the two best would move on.

Unfortunately, Charlie did not make it past this round, as he got distracted during his swing by the click sound of a fan’s iPhone. The sound caused him to hit the ground with his club before he hit the ball, per a video posted on X. Charlie could be seen turning around to remark, “Really, dude,” after he chunked the shot.

Fans took to the comment section of the video on X, with many empathizing with Charlie.

“I don’t blame him for being upset,” one wrote. “Ridiculous & clueless.”

“Heartbreaking moment,” a second added. “A distraction like that at the wrong time can happen to anyone. Keep grinding, Charlie💪⛳.”

However, some fans felt like the sound wasn’t the problem.

“Problem was the takeaway,” a third claimed. “Camera just gave Charlie someone else to blame.”

“Blamed it on the camera…. He chunked it!!” another added.

Tiger, 50, shares Charlie and daughter Sam, 19, with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren. As Globe previously reported, the pro golfer is currently dating Donald Trump Jr.‘s ex-wife Vanessa Trump.
