Woods’ DUI charge was reduced to a charge of reckless driving, second offense, which carries a $1,000 fine. The second charge, stemming from his refusal to submit to a urinalysis test, was also reduced to a careless driving citation, according to documents obtained by Globe.
Each reduced charge carries a five-year suspension of his driver’s license. The suspensions will be served concurrently.
Woods was originally scheduled to appear in court on September 8, but his change of plea hearing was moved up to Wednesday.
On March 27, Woods, 50, had been driving on Jupiter Island, Florida, when his Land Rover rolled over. The four-time PGA Championship winner initially pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge following his arrest.
At the time of his arrest, Woods also refused to submit to a lawful urine test.
