Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold Shares His Thoughts About Bad Bunny Performing at the Super Bowl
Bad Bunny has a fan in Sam Darnold.
While talking to reporters at the Super Bowl Opening Night on Monday, February 2, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback, 28 — who will face off against the New England Patriots on Sunday, February 8, in Super Bowl LX — shared his thoughts on the Puerto Rican superstar, 31, being this year’s halftime performer.
“It’s unbelievable,” he remarked. “I love his music. It’s great to have him perform at the Super Bowl.”
“I wish that I could see it. But I’m afraid I’ll be getting ready for the second half at that moment,” the NFL star added. “But I know a lot of people are excited about him performing.”
As Globe previously reported, some people, including President Donald Trump, have criticized the NFL’s decision to invite the 6-time Grammy Award winner to take the stage during the halftime show.
In an interview with The New York Post published last month, the 79-year-old commander in chief said he was disappointed with not only the Latin rapper being the headliner but also Green Day being the opener.
“I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice,” Trump, who will not attend the sporting event, told the outlet. “All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”
Both artists have spoken out against the Trump administration and previously supported his opponent, Kamala Harris, in the 2024 presidential race.
