President Donald Trump isn’t attending this year’s Super Bowl because he says it involves too much travel.
Although the former The Apprentice host, 79, attended last year’s game in New Orleans between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, he recently told The New York Post that this year’s Super Bowl — which is scheduled to take place Sunday, February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area — isn’t a trip he’s willing to take.
“It’s just too far away. I would. I’ve [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me,” he said. “They like me.”

Trump added, “I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Trump also noted that he isn’t thrilled about the choice of performers for this year’s Halftime Show. It was previously announced that Latin superstar Bad Bunny would headline the event along with Green Day. Both artists are critical of the Trump administration and previously supported his opponent in the 2024 race, Kamala Harris.
“I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible,” Trump said.

Trump has previously traveled to sporting events along the East Coast during his second term, including visits to UFC 314, the Ryder Cup golf tournament, the Army-Navy football game, the NCAA wrestling championships and a New York Yankees game, according to CNN.
However, despite what he says, he has famously received very mixed reactions from the crowds at some of these games, with many booing him as soon as he’s announced as a guest in attendance. When he attended games in his hometown of New York, specifically, crowds were seen on video reacting negatively to his presence at the games.
