Robinson, 23, is standing trial in the alleged assassination of Charlie Kirk. According to his roommate, who gave a videotaped statement to prosecutors, the suspect confessed to the murder one day after Charlie’s September 10, 2025, death.
“I just asked him in-person if what he said was true the night before,” Twiggs said of Robinson’s confession in a recorded statement, according to CNN. “He said it was and started crying a little bit and wishes he hadn’t done it.”
In exchange for his cooperation and statement, prosecutors granted Twiggs limited immunity.

“The Kirk family believes strongly that if the evidence is being admitted at this preliminary hearing, it should be made public for the world to see. No redactions,” Jeffrey Neiman, the attorney for Charlie’s widow, Erika Kirk, said.
Robinson is facing charges of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, obstruction of justice, and witness tampering. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
