President Donald Trump is reportedly gunning for the position of godfather after Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, announced they are expecting their fourth child together.
“Trump absolutely assumes he’ll be the godfather,” Rob Shuter reported in his Naughty But Nice Substack on Sunday, January 25. “In his mind, it’s a given. But no one has formally invited him into that role.”
“It wasn’t a question — it was more of an expectation,” a source told Shuter. “That’s classic Trump.”
The couple — who are already parents to Ewan, 8, Vivek, 5. and Mirabel, 4 — announced their fourth pregnancy in a joint Instagram post on January 20.
“We’re very excited to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy,” the post read. “Usha and the baby are doing well, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.”

Shuter explained that while the Vances have not chosen godparents for their unborn child yet, “They’re very aware of the optics.”
“Everything around them is scrutinized,” Shuter added. “Even a godparent becomes a headline.”
