Rama Duwaji, the First Lady of New York City, plans to travel to Syria and Lebanon in September — and according to a new report, she’s requesting an NYPD security detail.

“Upon the strong recommendation of the NYPD, the First Lady’s security detail will be joining her when she travels to visit family in Syria and Lebanon,” mayoral spokesperson Dora Pekec told the outlet.

“This is not an investigative trip, and therefore, NYPD personnel will not be traveling there for it,” they added.
