Member of Jill Biden’s Secret Service Team Accidentally Shoots Himself in Leg

A member of Jill Biden’s Secret Service team accidentally shot himself in the leg at the Philadelphia airport.

According to a report from KYWNewsRadio published on Friday, March 27, the unidentified agent was escorting the former first lady, 74, at the time, but sources told the outlet she was not physically present when the gun went off.

A large police presence gathered outside the American Airlines ticket counter at Terminal C. A black Chevy Suburban sat at the scene with its trunk and front passenger door open, surrounded by police tape, per KYWNewsRadio. The area has since been cleared.

A spokesperson for the Secret Service later confirmed that an agent had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“An on-duty U.S. Secret Service Special Agent suffered a non-life-threatening injury following a negligent discharge while handling a service weapon at the Philadelphia International Airport during a protective assignment,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

“There was no impact to the protectee’s movement and they were not present at the time of the incident. There were no reported injuries to any other individuals and the special agent is being evaluated at an area hospital in stable condition.”
