Kevin Federline’s kids have put distance between themselves and their mom, Britney Spears.

On Thursday, October 23, the former backup dancer, 47 — who shares sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with Spears, 43 — appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored and shed light on the status of the boys’ relationship with the pop star after his bombshell claims in his new memoir, You Thought You Knew.

Host Piers Morgan, 60, asked Federline whether Spears’ Instagram statement from last week, in which she claimed she’s only seen one of her sons for “45 minutes in the past 5 years,” was “accurate.”

“No, that’s not,” Federline replied. “She saw one of my sons [Sean Preston] one day this year, and he decided not to go back over there because of what he saw.”

“The other one, Jayden, who’s my younger son, is 19 now — he’s been over there quite a few times over the past year, and he’s stopped seeing her in the last few months because of the situation,” Federline revealed.

“They’re terrified and they’re worried about their mom and they don’t know how to help because of what all of this has caused,” he added.

Morgan pushed for details about what the boys witnessed, but Federline said he didn’t want to share too much.

“That’s my son’s story to tell if they decide to. I mean, the things that they’ve seen are shocking, right?” he remarked. “So shocking that one of my sons came to me and called me and was like, ‘I don’t know what to do. I’m afraid mom is going to die.'”

However, when the talk show host asked Federline if the situation had “to do with substance abuse,” he responded, “absolutely.”

Morgan also brought up how Federline wrote in his book that Spears was “doing cocaine while she was still nursing your boys” and asked him if the Grammy winner was on “that kind of substance.”

“It is that, all of it,” Federline replied. “So much more.”

“A variety of different drugs?” asked Morgan, to which Federline said, “Yes.”

Last week, a representative for Spears shared a statement with People regarding Federline’s book.

“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,” the statement read. “All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir [The Woman in Me].”
