Kanye West’s lawyers have been accused of ignoring request to get the disgraced music mogul to show up for deposition in his sexual assault case, according to court papers obtained by Globe.
In the documents, filed on Monday, October 20, lawyers representing West’s former assistant Lauren Pisciotta claim they had sent 14 emails “in an attempt to meet and confer” regarding a deposition date for the “Runaway” rapper, 48, and to obtain discovery documents.
“But Defendant has refused to cooperate – even going so far as to ignore Plaintiff’s emails for a period of two months,” the papers allege. “Further, in the unusual event that Defense counsel decides to respond to Plaintiff’s emails, their responses are nothing more than breadcrumbs designed to placate Plaintiff for the purpose of avoiding court intervention.”
The papers note that in an April court appearance regarding another lawsuit, West’s lawyer, Eduardo Martorell, “openly admitted that he was not able to reach his client, and that he did not have a firm commitment from his client to appear for his deposition.”

Pisciotta has accused her former employer of sexual harassment and assault. For a period of approximately one year, Defendant Ye touched Plaintiff against her will, sent Plaintiff sexually explicit images of himself, demanded that Plaintiff reciprocate with sexually explicit images of herself, and subjected her to incessant conversations about his personal and explicit sexual activities as well as his sexual fantasies about her,” the papers claim.
“During the same time period, Defendant Ye orally raped plaintiff, forcibly touched her vagina without her consent, and masturbated in front of Plaintiff on multiple occasions,” her lawyers allege.
After Pisciotta filed her suit last year, lawyers for West denied her claims in a statement to Page Six, calling them “baseless.”
On Wednesday, October 29, a judge responded to the lawyers’ request for a hearing about the matter and set a court date for Monday, December 1.
