Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s dynamic transcends more than just mere friendly exes.
The “I’m Real” singer, 56, and the Argo director, 53, apparently have a stronger relationship now than when they were married.
Bennifer — a nickname that the two have been affectionately called over the years — were together from 2002 until 2004, eventually reconnecting in 2021 and getting married in 2022. However, despite splitting in 2024, they have remained pals.
In a report published Tuesday, October 7, a source told Page Sixthat the pair actually “like each other so much more when they’re not married to each other.”
The source continued: “As long as they are each playing their parts, they’re perfect. The minute they try to be anything more than that — especially something as pedestrian as husband and wife — it’s so doomed.”

The Oscar-winning director and the Marry Me actress were seen together on the red carpet for Lopez’s new film Kiss of the Spider Woman. Affleck is also a producer on the musical drama and the two stepped out to support each other at the New York premiere on Monday, October 6.
The pair appeared cozy together on the carpet, looking joyful and ready to celebrate the buzzworthy film.
Lopez also made it a family affair, bringing along 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
On the same day as the premiere, the “Get Right” singer chatted with Today show broadcasterCraig Melvin about the movie — however, she seemed to swerve a question about the breakup.
“If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made … and I will always give him that credit,” she said.
