Greg Biffle’s Ex-Wife Asking His Estate for $10 Million Following Plane Crash Involving Daughter

The estate of Greg Biffle — the retired NASCAR driver who died alongside his wife and two children in a plane crash in North Carolina — is reportedly being asked to pay his ex-wife $10 million after the tragedy.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ for an article published Thursday, September 3, Nicole Biffle filed a claim against his estate in connection to their daughter Emma Biffle‘s death on December 18, 2025.

As Globe previously reported, authorities confirmed that multiple people died when a Cessna C550 business jet, owned by the race car driver, crashed in North Carolina while landing.

Among them were Greg, 55, his wife, Cristina Grossu, 35, daughter Emma, 14, and son Ryder, 5.

In May, Nicole filed a wrongful death lawsuit in connection to the accident — and in the new legal docs, she’s reportedly requesting an order preventing the estate from making further distributions to make sure they’re able to pay out her claim.

CBS affiliate WBTV reported that Nicole’s wrongful death lawsuit — which was filed on May 13 against Greg’s estate, the estate of Dennis Dutton (the pilot) and GB Aviation Leasing — claimed there was negligence before the plane began to taxi.

According to the suit, Greg asked his daughter Emma to travel with him to Sarasota, Florida, and the Bahamas. However, Emma was allegedly unwell prior to the trip and didn’t want to go. Because Greg apparently insisted, Emma and Nicole “reluctantly agreed.”

The docs also stated that Emma lived with her mother full-time.

The lawsuit claimed that the flight required it to be flown under instrument flight rules, per WBTV. However, an Instrument Flight Rules flight plan (required when flying in fog, clouds or rain) was allegedly filed with the Federal Aviation Administration, but it wasn’t activated.

Per WBTV, it was reportedly cloudy with inclement weather on the morning of their deaths. Dutton, the pilot-in-command, allegedly departed without clearance or contacting air traffic control, the lawsuit reportedly claimed.

TMZ reported that Greg’s estate is facing three separate wrongful death lawsuits and $40 million in claims.

After the plane crashed, it erupted in flames.
