Celebrate National Pecan Day With Purposeful Gourmet Foods’ Tasty And Charitable Pecans

As National Pecan Day approaches on April 14, Purposeful Gourmet Foods is inviting pecan lovers to indulge in their flavorful offerings while supporting a good cause.

The brand’s Purposeful Pecans are available in two standout flavors: Sweet With Heat and Sugar & Spice. The Georgia-grown candied pecans are crafted using recipes developed by Robert Gerstenecker, the former executive chef of Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta and current culinary lead for Meals On Wheels Atlanta (MOWA). The Sweet With Heat pecans combine dried chili pepper, sweet cane sugar, and star anise, while the Sugar & Spice variety balances cinnamon and cane sugar.

The snacks are not only a treat for the taste buds but also benefit the community. As a social enterprise of Meals On Wheels Atlanta (MOWA), each purchase helps fund the preparation and delivery of over 500,000 meals annually to homebound seniors and their pets.

Purposeful Gourmet Foods’ Sweet With Heat pecans have been recognized as a finalist in the Snack Food category of the 2025 Flavor of Georgia Food Product Contest. The competition, organized by the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Science, celebrates innovative food products from Georgia’s small businesses.

On April 17, representatives from Purposeful Gourmet Foods will participate in Savor the State: A Flavor of Georgia Tasting Experience, where attendees can sample and purchase products, and vote for the Peoples Choice Award.
