Caitlyn Jenner has secretly been struggling with financial issues, a source reveals — and that’s why she recently demanded back money late pal Sophia Hutchins had borrowed!
As Globe previously reported, the gold medalist, 76, filed a creditor’s claim against Hutchins’ estate five months ago, alleging the 29-year-old owed Jenner close to $450,000 before her tragic death this past July.
“To outsiders, her legal move was a real head-scratcher. It’s hard to fathom why Cait would even need the cash, but she’s been burning through her savings like crazy for years,” spills Globe’s source. “Now, she’s panicking about her financial position.”

Over the course of four years, the retired athlete’s net worth has reportedly shrunk from a whopping $100 million to just $25 million, per Parade.
“The stats don’t lie,” the source tells Globe. “Caitlyn hasn’t done herself any favors by being overly-generous with her money — she never said no when Sophia asked for loans.”
Court docs allege Jenner’s former manager had amassed $439,095.88 in debt, spending the I Am Cait alum’s dough on legal fees, cash advances and online shopping at retailers like eBay and 1stdibs, according to TMZ.
While Hutchins was supposedly obligated to reimburse the expenses, she unexpectedly passed away in an ATV accident near Jenner’s Malibu home.
“The process to get the money back was arduous and drawn-out,” details Globe’s source. “Caitlyn adored Sophia, so it stirred up a lot of unnecessary pain and raw emotion. The whole situation is sad.”
