Desperate mom Britney Spears is spoiling her kids like crazy in a bid to keep them close to her — but friends fear she’s going so overboard, they might bankrupt her!

Insiders understand why the fragile pop star, 44, wants Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, to spend time with her in the wake of her DUI arrest — she thinks they’ll help her stay sober, which she hopes will impress the judge and keep her out of jail.

“She’s leaning on them for emotional support right now and believes they can be her only lifeline moving forward,” says a source.

That’s why the sky is the limit when it comes to indulging them.

“She’s treating them to the best of everything — jewelry, fast cars, designer duds, electronics, you name it,” says a source. “All they need to do is snap their fingers and Britney’s there with her credit card. Of course the boys love their mom, but they’re not turning down her generosity and [are] loving their new five-star lifestyle on her dime.”

As readers know, Spears has had a roller-coaster relationship with the boys over the years, but to their credit, they’ve stepped up to support her when she needed them.

According to our insider, “Britney has major trust issues, she’s cut off 99 percent of the folks in her life, but Sean Preston and Jayden can do no wrong in her eyes.”

“Naturally some people are worried — they think it’s sad that she’s seemingly trying to buy their affection,” according to our insider.

As readers know, the Princess of Pop sold her music catalog to publisher Primary Wave for a reported $200 million in February — which insiders say she desperately needed, as her finances have taken a battering in recent years.

“Still, she needs to be watching every dime right now. But instead she’s blowing through money to impress the boys,” says the source. “The biggest fear is that they’ll pick her clean and leave her dry.”
