Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver Reunite in Rare Family Photo, 15 Years After Shocking Split

Arnold Schwarzenegger seemingly spent his birthday with family, including his ex-wife Maria Shriver.

On Tuesday, September 8, the couple’s eldest daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger, posted an Instagram carousel with photos from her summer adventures, including a snap of the former California governor and the journalist, 70, sitting next to each other at a restaurant.

In the photo, the former couple both smiled, with a piece of cake and a sparkler on the table as they appeared to celebrate the Terminator star’s 79th birthday. Katherine, 36, along with her siblings Christina Schwarzenegger and Patrick Schwarzenegger, were also in the picture.

“Summer… you were good to us! Back to reality 🤪,” Katherine, who is married to actor Chris Pratt, captioned her post.

In July, Katherine shared a candid solo shot of Arnold from the family gathering on Instagram.

Back in 2023, the legendary professional bodybuilder talked about the status of his relationship with Shriver, telling People, “We always made it very clear that the kids should not suffer” just because of the split.

“So everything is kind of just as if we’re together, but we have separate lives. And she has her things, her relationship, I have mine, but we always communicate about the kids, about the holidays, about birthday parties and Mother’s Day parties and Christmas,” he explained. “My chapter with Maria will continue on forever. Even though it’s a different relationship, there’s no reason for me to feel anything other than love for her.”

The pair tied the knot in 1986 and split in 2011, as Arnold publicly confirmed he fathered a son, Joseph Baena, 28, with a member of the household staff, Mildred Baena. Their divorce was finalized in 2021.
