Neighbors who live in the same Los Angeles apartment complex as double homicide suspect Raymond Boodarian have spoken out about his alleged concerning behavior leading up to his arrest for the murders of American Idol exec Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca.
Several residents told TMZ that Boodarian, 22, would wander the property for hours in a trance-like state, sometimes barefoot, just staring at the ground and at other times, would be laying down on the grass seemingly lost in thought.
The neighbors claimed he often appeared to be “out of it” while strolling around the premises — where he stays with his mother, stepfather, and teenage sister, according to the report, which noted that Boodarian didn’t ever make direct threats to others in the complex.
“He’d just start yelling into the sky. Not words — just screeches,” one neighbor claimed.
Residents detailed his alleged frequent outbursts, stating that he was seen screaming incoherently and clutching his fists in the air for no apparent reason. Other incidents included him allegedly knocking on random doors in the complex.

“There was always yelling coming from their apartment — mostly him screaming at his parents,” one person said. His family was described in the report as always being “polite and kind.”
It’s unclear if Boodarian has a job, his neighbors said. Ever since his arrest, his mother and sister haven’t been seen around.
His stepdad, however, has reportedly been spotted at the complex after Boodarian was taken into custody on Tuesday, July 15.
Cops found Kaye and Deluca, both 70, dead in their Encino home during a welfare check one day earlier on Monday, July 14. The New York Post previously reported that the couple had recently looked into hiring private security because they “felt threatened by somebody.”

Boodarian was cuffed at his home and booked on suspicion of murder. As Globe previously learned, he remains behind bars without bail, according to online records which showed that he had been arrested on three separate criminal battery cases in 2024.
It is speculated that Kaye and Deluca were killed on July 10, when the LAPD was alerted about a possible burglary after a person was seen hopping over the fence.
Officers reportedly saw no sign of any burglary at the time.
Investigators believe the burglar entered the property on that date through an unlocked door and the couple potentially arrived during the home invasion, leading to a confrontation before the suspect opened fire and fled the crime scene.
“He was definitely strange, but I never imagined this,” added one neighbor.
