Alan Jackson Says He’s ‘Winding Down’ Amid Health Battle, Announces Star-Studded Final Concert
Alan Jackson is hanging up his microphone soon.
On Wednesday, October 8, the beloved country singer, 66, shared a video on Instagram telling the crowd at one of his shows some details about his final concert.
“Y’all may have heard that I’m winding down,” Jackson remarked. “In fact, this is my last road show of my career.”
“I appreciate it, y’all are gonna make me tear up here,” Jackson continued. “I just felt like I had to end it all where it all started — and that’s in Nashville, Tennessee [a.k.a.] Music City, where country music was born and lives.”
The “Good Time” singer’s last concert — Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale — will take place on June 27, 2026, at Nissan Stadium.
A slew of country music legends will perform at the show, including Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Jon Pardi, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Lee Ann Womack.
The two-time Grammy Award winner’s announcement comes a few years after he revealed that he had Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease on Today in 2021. Jackson told Today he was diagnosed a decade prior.
“I have this neuropathy and neurological disease. It’s genetic that I inherited from my daddy,” Jackson shared. “There’s no cure for it, but it’s been affecting me for years. And it’s getting more and more obvious. And I know I’m stumbling around on stage. And now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone, and so I just feel very uncomfortable.”
“It’s not going to kill me. It’s not deadly,” Jackson added. “But it’s related [to] muscular dystrophy and Parkinson’s disease.”
