A freight train hauling printer paper partially derailed in Massachusetts Tuesday morning, prompting a road closure, officials said.

The Littleton Police Department said Gilson Road was closed due to a train derailment blocking the crossing shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday. Three cars of the CSX train came off the tracks.

“We are told the train is carrying printer paper and no hazardous materials,” police said.

The road closure was expected to remain in place most of Tuesday, but police said “CSX was able to work quickly to get the train back on the tracks.”

CSX said no injuries were reported in the derailment, and that operations have since been restored.

Police said Gilson Road was reopened at around 10:30 a.m. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
