Tom Selleck Comes Out of Hiding Following Claims He Looked ‘Unrecognizable’ (Exclusive)

The Blue Bloods alum, who shocked fans with his “unrecognizable” appearance in a July outing, was spotted looking much more like himself in L.A. on Monday, October 20, in photos obtained by Globe.

“Tom’s a proud guy and didn’t appreciate all the noise and concern over his health and told people it was a lot of fuss over nothing,” a source tells Globe.

“But deep down he knew things were bad: He was bloated, exhausted and all the junk food and lack of exercise had really caught up with him,” continues the source. “On top of that he wasn’t taking care of himself hygiene wise and didn’t even bother to trim his beard.”

After his wife of 38 years, Jillie Mack, “staged a mini intervention,” the former Magnum P.I. star, 80, “cut back on fast food” and began exercising more, says the source.

Getting his hair and beard styled helped a lot too, adds the source. “It’s done wonders for his confidence.”

Selleck might even be ready to hit the small screen again on Boston Blue, the spin-off of his long-running CBS series, says the source. “He’s keeping his fingers and toes crossed for a call from producers, who’ve got everyone in their ears pleading for Tom to get a cameo at the very least.”
