Tiger Woods’ ‘Horrible’ Divorce With Elin Nordegren Is ‘Holding Him Back’ From Proposing to Vanessa Trump

Despite wanting to give girlfriend Vanessa Trump the wedding of her dreams, Tiger Woods isn’t quite ready to take another swing at matrimony, a source tells Globe.

“Tiger adores Vanessa,” notes the source. “But he’s also got a lot of baggage from his first marriage.”

The golf icon’s six-year union with Elin Nordegren famously imploded in 2009 after it was revealed he’d had affairs with more than a dozen women.

She received close to $100 million as part of their 2010 divorce settlement, TMZ reported.

“His breakup from Elin was horrible,” admits Globe‘s source. “Tiger has so many regrets, and when you get right down to it, that’s really what’s holding him back from proposing to Vanessa. He’s afraid he’s going to fail again.”

Woods’ case of cold feet comes amid a challenging year for the couple.

As Globe previously reported, the 50-year-old athlete was charged with a DUI in March, later entering no-contest pleas to reduced charges and receiving a five-year driver’s license suspension.

Meanwhile, Trump, 48, announced she was officially cancer-free on October 23, following a months-long battle with breast cancer.

According to the source, the hardships they experienced this year brought the pair closer together than ever.

“They are very much partners,” adds the source. “There was a time that Vanessa was pushing him for a ring, but the way Tiger was there for her through her cancer battle proved all she needs to know about his commitment to her.”

That doesn’t mean a walk down the aisle is completely off the table, spills the source.

“Tiger hasn’t said it will never happen,” dishes the source. “He’s definitely not in any hurry, though.”
