Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets, who was pronounced dead at 67 years old on Wednesday, April 22, was allegedly being bullied before his death.
After TMZ broke the news that Lake Havasu Police in Arizona said that Sheets seemingly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Storage Wars costar Rene Nezhoda mourned the fan favorite with a video message shared to social media.
“This is not an easy video to shoot. Unfortunately, Darrell Sheets took his own life,” Nezhoda, 49, said, though no official cause nor manner of death has been released.
After paying tribute to his friend, Nezhoda told followers, “I know Darrell would want something positive out of this. He had a guy really tormenting him lately and cyberbullying [him].”
Speaking directly to those watching, Nezhoda said, “Guys, just because you watch us on television doesn’t mean you know us. It doesn’t mean you know what we’re about. Also, it doesn’t entitle you to bully somebody.”
“If you have somebody in your life that thinks it’s funny to cyberbully other people — may that be a celebrity athlete or little girl at school or a schoolmate — slap them in the back of the head,” he said. “Make them become a better human being because you never know what demons somebody faces and what they go through and what you might push them through.”

Nezhoda urged law enforcement to take action. According to People, authorities said Sheets’ death is under active investigation and asked for anyone with information to call 928-855-1171.
“Darrell has been posting a lot about the guy that’s been cyberbullying him and tormenting him, and I really hope they look into that guy, and it’s just not a pass,” Nezhoda said. “Because it’s just not right, guys. Be better.”
Nezhoda remembered Sheets — who became known as “The Gambler” after joining the A&E reality TV series in 2010 — as a loving person.
“I know a lot of you guys think we hated each other because we competed a lot on the show, and you know, we had our moments — we had our run-ins — but that’s because we were both competitors, right?” Nezhoda said. “Deep down, me and Darrell were friends. We talked every now and then. He’s a very hard worker that cared more than anyone I’ve probably ever met about their family.”
Law enforcement officials responded to a report of a dead body at Sheets’ house in the early morning hours on Wednesday, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
