Late Hollywood legend Steve McQueen once got swindled out of a valuable Jackson Pollock painting he owned, his granddaughter alleges in a legal filing obtained by Globe.

Molly McQueen, 38, believes that her grandfather “transferred a Jackson Pollack drip painting to Rudolph and Pamela Borchert, a married couple, in anticipated exchange for a motorcycle and Latigo Canyon [in Malibu, California] property,” the court document, filed on Tuesday, August 5, reads.

However, after receiving the painting, the lawsuit alleges, “one of the Borcherts crashed the subject motorcycle” and the “property never changed title” but they “failed to return the painting.”

The Bullitt star died at age 50 in 1980 and the Borcherts have also passed, so Molly — whose late mother Terry was the actor’s daughter — is suing their son Brent Borchert to retrieve the artwork, which she estimates is now worth in excess of $70 million.

In his response filed on Friday, September 12, Borchert denies Molly’s allegations that his parents were supposed to give the painting back.

“I talked to my mom once and asked, ‘What’s the deal with the Jackson Pollock painting?’ And she said, ‘Your father made some sort of deal. I wasn’t there for it.’” he told the Mirror in a story published on Saturday, September 20.

“It was a quick conversation, but I recall that she may have mentioned something about a motorcycle and the house,” he continued. “It’s all very hazy.”
