Spring Breakers Flock To Top Destinations: Beaches, Cities, And Fashion Hotspots

With spring break quickly approaching, U.S. travelers are still looking for last-minute vacation spots, and new data from Booking.com highlights the most sought-after destinations, revealing an inclination toward both sun-soaked beach escapes and buzzing city adventures.

Florida remains a top pick with a variety of popular destinations, including Panama City Beach and Destin, with cities like Orlando seeing a 7% increase in interest year over year, and Miami seeing an incredible 21% increase YoY. Travelers searching for sand and sun outside of Florida are also looking to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The top trending hotspots for spring breakers seeking city vibes include Las Vegas, Nev., New York City, Tokyo (+35% YoY), and Paris (+24% YoY).

Tennessee is also seeing a surge of interest from travelers looking for mountain charm and outdoor adventure. Pigeon Forge has seen a 13% increase in interest since last year, and interest in Gatlinburg is up 29%.

There’s also a new trend among fashion-forward travelers — shopping for their vacation wardrobe at their destination. According to Booking.com Endorsement data, more than a third (38%) of American travelers plan to shop on vacation, and cities like Tokyo and Paris are emerging as top shopping destinations for fashion-conscious jet-setters.
