March is National Nutrition Month, and many Americans are revisiting their health goals, hoping to reinvigorate long-faded New Year’s resolutions about eating better and leading healthier lives.

Efrat LaMandre, PhD, FNP-C, a certified family nurse practitioner known as “Dr. E, the NP with the PhD,” says better nutrition is truly the key to a happier and longer life.

LaMandre has more than 670,000 TikTok followers and millions of views, and is the author of the best-selling book, “It’s Not In Your Head,” about medical gaslighting and the legitimacy of patient symptoms.

According to LaMandre, nutrition impacts mental health, energy, and sleep. Many foods marketed as “healthy” aren’t healthy at all, and “sneaky” inflammatory foods making their way into your diet may be impacting your health. An anti-inflammatory diet, on the other hand, may help reduce chronic disease.

Along with using her social media platform to educate the public on nutrition and other health topics, LaMandre owns a medical practice in New York and serves as Chair of the Staten Island Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees.
