Weeks after landing her dream job, Whitney Robeson was allegedly gunned down by her boyfriend’s father.
Robeson, 22, was shot inside a Trussville, Alabama, home on the evening of March 7. She was rushed to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The recent Auburn University graduate had recently landed a job as a trade consultant at Restoration Hardware, months after graduating with a degree in interior design.
“In her new role as a Trade Consultant at Restoration Hardware, this marvelous, independent woman was on the cusp of her successful career in interior design: the job she had always wanted since she was a little girl watching HGTV,” her obituary read.
After a two-month “extensive investigation” into her death, 54-year-old Jeffrey Scott Towers was arrested on manslaughter charges, the Trussville Police Department said in a statement. Towers is the father of Robeson’s boyfriend.
Towers was taken into custody on May 11 and held on $30,000 bond.
