Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is giving an update on the investigation into the Army pilots who flew over Kid Rock’s home.
On Tuesday, March 31, the former Fox News host, 45, took to X, resharing the video Kid Rock (real name: Robert Ritchie) posted on Saturday, March 28, of two military helicopters flying right above his Nashville home while he waved and saluted them.
“Thank you @KidRock,” Hegseth wrote on his post. “@USArmy pilots suspension LIFTED. No punishment. No investigation. Carry on, patriots.”

Earlier Tuesday, Major Montrell Russell, a spokesman for the Army, shared a statement on the situation, revealing, “personnel involved have been suspended from flight duties while the Army reviews the circumstances surrounding the mission, including compliance with relevant FAA regulations, aviation safety protocol, and approval requirements,” per NBC News.
“Since the investigation is ongoing, it would be inappropriate to discuss specific findings at this time,” Russell added. “The Army takes any allegations of unauthorized or unsafe flight operations very seriously and is committed to enforcing standards and holding personnel accountable.”
As Globe previously reported, Kid Rock, 55, told Nashville’s WKRN in an article published March 30 that he believed President Donald Trump wouldn’t allow the Army pilots to face consequences.

“I think they’re going to be alright — my buddy is the commander in chief,” the singer told the outlet.
The musician further described the moment to WKRN.
“They circled back around and came out right over here, and I just gave them a salute, kind of a thank you, and man, it was a level of respect that I got that no award or record sales could do,” he admitted. “It was pretty cool they stopped right there. I wasn’t expecting any of that, but I thought it was really neat.”
“I was there last Thanksgiving with [Vice President] JD Vance, and I’ve talked to some of these pilots, and I told them, ‘You guys see me waving when you come by the house, you guys are always welcome to cruise by my house like any time,” he recalled.
