Nicole Kidman Cites ‘Irreconcilable Differences’ as Reason for Keith Urban Divorce, Settles Custody of Kids

On September 30, Nicole Kidman filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, and officially ending her marriage of 19 years to country singer Keith Urban. And while it usually can take months — or even years — for newly separated couples to hammer out a custody arrangement, the duo have already decided on and formalized plans, according to court documents obtained by Globe.

The court documents show that Kidman and Urban — who share Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14 — have already signed a “Marital Dissolution Agreement” that includes a parenting plan, child support worksheet and a Parenting Seminar Order.

The parenting plan states the kids will spend 306 days with the Oscar winner and 59 days with the country singer. Both exes agree that all major decisions involving Sunday and Faith, including education and health care, will be made jointly.

Neither Kidman, 58, or Urban, 57, will pay spousal or child support, though Urban has already covered future child support payments. The agreement allows each to keep their separate assets.

According to TMZ, who first broke the news of their separation, Kidman wanted to save the marriage, sources told the outlet.

Adding to Kidman’s heartbreak, multiple sources told TMZ in a report published on September 30 that “all the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman.”

“Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that,” added the sources,” but she’s still shocked over it.”

Others aren’t so surprised. “People close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable,” a source told People.  “It really hasn’t been a secret in their circles that Keith and Nicole have been living separately for a while now.”
