Meghan Markle Desperate to Repair Friendship With Victoria Beckham Amid U.K. Return: ‘Testing the Waters’

What Meghan Markle wants, what she really, really wants is Victoria Beckham back in her inner circle, reveals a source.

“Out of all the rejections and broken friendships she’s had to deal with, this is the one that probably stings the most,” the source tells Globe. “Meghan really believed she and Victoria were friends for life, and she still thinks that the argument that tore them apart was fueled by the media and other trouble-makers at the time.”

According to Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors author Tom Bower, the Suits alum, 45, once “suspected” Posh Spice, 52, of leaking her private info to the press, In Touch reported in 2022.

Husband Prince Harry “called David Beckham to repeat the accusation,” wrote the British journalist, per the outlet. “Outraged, Beckham’s truthful denials damaged their relationship.”

Globe‘s source says things between the As Ever founder and the fashion designer grew even more “awkward” in the ensuing years as the Beckhams became closer to Prince William and Princess Kate — whom the Sussexes have famously feuded with.

“But for Meghan there’s unfinished business here,” adds the source. “They still have some mutual friends, so right now Meghan’s reaching out and testing the waters.”

Last week, The Telegraph revealed Markle and the Spare author, 41, flew from California to the U.K., where they’ve enrolled children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, in school for the fall semester.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET that, after landing in England on Wednesday, August 26, the family was driven to their new home: an 83-acre estate in the Cotswolds region.

The Beckhams also own an estate in the Cotswolds, per The Standard, making the estranged friends new neighbors.

“If all else fails, Meghan’s hoping that King Charles III may act as peace broker between her and Victoria,” shares Globe‘s source. “There’s no doubt he carries a lot of influence.”
