Funnyguy Kevin James wasn’t sure everybody would love his buddy Ray Romano’s series Everybody Loves Raymond. “The fact that he got a show … I couldn’t believe it because he’s such a low-energy guy,” the King of Queens star, 60, said on the Sibling Revelry with Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson podcast.
“Sitcom guys were, to me, like the big, wacky [characters]. I’m like this — this is … not going to happen.”

But the show ran for nine seasons and earned 15 Emmys.
“He was so good,” says Kevin. “I was like, ‘Wow, I have to watch him and learn from him, because I’m going to be too big on camera.’ So even on The King of Queens, when I see episodes now, I’m like … I wish I could go back and redo it.”
