Counting On alum Jinger Duggar and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, shared their controversial take on sunscreen during a recent episode of their “The Jinger and Jeremy Podcast.”
“I don’t put sunscreen on all the time, which is probably why I have more wrinkles, and because I’m in my 30s, but I don’t use that all the time,” Duggar, 31, told Jeremy, 38, on Wednesday, October 29. “But I definitely try not to use the normal sunscreens because they’re so toxic when you do the sprays and stuff.”
Duggar explained that on the occasions when she chooses to protect her skin, she reaches for “mineral-based sunscreens.” The former reality star went on to specify the instances when she finds sun protection necessary, listing the pool, the beach or “an area that has, like, heavy sun.”
The mother of 3, who moved her family to California in 2019, also opts out of sun protection for her children.
“I actually let them soak up some sun,” Duggar continued. “I don’t know if that’s bad or good, but I do let them soak up some sun because I’m like, if it’s not, like, beating down, we don’t try to go out when it’s 100 degrees.”
Duggar also revealed on the podcast that she’s “anti-medicine” while recalling an incident with her eldest daughter, who was suffering from an ear infection.
“I looked up the symptoms she was having on ChatGPT and it said to take her to the ER right away,” she explained. However, she initially balked at the idea of her child being given antibiotics “because those can really just mess up your gut.”
“I’m growing more and more crunchy,” Duggar admitted, “but I don’t think I’m imbalanced in it.”
