JD Vance Trolled After He Rates His Chances of Getting Into Heaven: ‘This Is Rather Shocking’

Vice President JD Vance is taking the heat for discussing his chances of getting into Heaven.

During the 42-year-old vice president’s appearance on the Monday, August 31, episode of the Bryce Crawford Podcast, host Bryce Crawford asked, “On a scale of 1 to 10 — 10 being absolutely certain, 1 being not certain at all — how confident are you that you’d go to Heaven?”

While the Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith author said that it’s a “tough question,” he theorized: “It’s high, but it’s not a 10, right? It’s a 7 or it’s an 8.”

Vance said that he wasn’t going to give himself a perfect score because he’s “always one of these people who is always going to have little doubts.”

“If you’d asked me that question a year ago, it probably was like a 5 or a 6,” he said, adding that the recent uptick is due to previous uncertainties about God he may have had.

“If it’s real, I feel confident that I’ve done the things necessary or, more importantly, that I have followed what God has told me to,” Vance said. “But I’m not 100% certain. And I’m always going to be one of those people who has little doubts about it.”

After a clip of his interview was posted to X, social media users chimed in on where they think Vance actually fits on a scale of going to Heaven.

“This is rather shocking,” one person wrote. “It shows that this new Catholic has not cracked open his Bible, or particularly the New Testament at all. It’s not a sliding scale, J.D. He must be the dumbest Yale graduate ever.”

Others gave their own numbers for Vance, with one person writing: “It’s a 0.” Another user pointed out that President Donald Trump‘s second in command has “zero morals and sways with the breeze.”

“Hey MAGA, neither your president OR your vice president understand Christianity!!” wrote another person. “You might want to think twice about putting them in charge of making America a Christian nation.”

Some, however, stuck up for the vice president.

“Funny how you guys are trying to use this as something negative when this is a PERFECT answer to this question,” one person wrote. “Everyone is flawed. If you rate yourself higher than a 7-8, you’re lying to yourself. None of us deserve Heaven and we are lucky if we get there. Well said @JDVance.”
