Retired NFL star Antonio Brown is in custody on charges of attempted murder in connection to a May 16 shooting in Miami.
Brown, 37, was extradited from Dubai back to the United States, where he was reportedly hiding out, TMZ reported on Thursday, November 6.
The former wide receiver is accused of shooting at a man outside of an amateur boxing match in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood.
“Miami Police confirm that U.S. Marshals have apprehended Antonio Brown and that he has been extradited to the U.S.,” Miami police spokesperson Mike Vega said in a statement obtained by NBC News. “No date has been set for his transfer to Miami-Dade County.”

One day after the shooting incident, Brown alleged in a post via X that he was “jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me.”
He claimed at the time that he would be pressing charges.
A warrant for his arrest was issued by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office in June, listing the charges as attempted second degree murder.
The former Tampa Bay Buccaneer remained active on social media despite evading arrest. Last week, he shared a promotional video showing himself behind the wheel of a black Lamborghini.
“Locked in, living good, and VIP energy hits different,” he captioned the October 29 post. “Appreciate the love!”
