A 3-year-old Florida girl has died after getting her head stuck in a kitchen playset after being left unsupervised at her nanny’s home.
According to the Boynton Beach Police, the girl’s nanny left the children in the care of her spouse on July 23.
The spouse reportedly left the children downstairs while they remained upstairs, only checking periodically and providing snacks, WPBF reported. It’s unclear how long the nanny was absent.
When the child was discovered with her head stuck in the playset, the spouse removed her and began performing lifesaving measures.
The department explained that the playset was purchased from Facebook Marketplace and was made of wood. It was described as old, but the brand was unknown.

“The toddler’s sibling advised that the child’s toys had fallen into the kitchen play set when they attempted to retrieve the toys and became stuck,” the police department said, per WFLX.
She was rushed to the hospital and was listed in critical condition. Tragically, the child died four days later on July 27.
The investigation into her death remains ongoing, though no charges have been filed as of August 4.
