Claudia Lemieux Bishop, the daughter of NHL player Claude Lemieux, is the latest member of his family to publicly speak out about his death.
“No words to express the level of devastation we feel,” Claudia, 28, wrote on her Instagram Story on Thursday, May 28. “I love you forever daddy. Forever your only girl 💔.”
Claudia posted the message about her dad over a re-shared image from the account of her dad’s former team, the New Jersey Devils, that shared news of Claude’s passing.
TMZ reported on Thursday, May 28, that the four-time Stanley Cup winner, who played 21 seasons in the NHL, died from a reported suicide at age 60. The outlet reports that he was found by one of his sons around 3 a.m. inside the family’s furniture store after the family noticed he didn’t come home when he was supposed to.

According to The New York Times’The Athletic, Claude had three sons (including former NHL player Brendan Lemieux) and one daughter, Claudia. It is unclear which of his sons allegedly found their father’s body at the showroom.
“I love you dad! My son’s favorite person is going to watch from above for a while,” Brendan wrote in the caption. “We will see you ♥️.”
News of Claude’s death was first shared by the NHL Alumni Association on its Instagram account.
“He was loved by his wife and four children, and on behalf of the Lemieux family, we kindly ask that everyone respect their privacy during this difficult time,” the organization’s eulogy concluded.
