The Boss Bruce Springsteen sent a pointed message to President Donald Trump’s administration with his newest song, “Streets of Minneapolis.”
“I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis,” the artist, 76, shared via social media on Wednesday, January 28. “It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free.”

In the song, Springsteen, a longtime critic of the president, likens the billionaire to a “king.”
“Through the winter’s ice and cold / Down Nicollet Avenue / A city aflame fought fire and ice / ‘Neath an occupier’s boots / King Trump’s private army from the DHS / Guns belted to their coats / Came to Minneapolis to enforce the law / Or so their story goes,” he sings.
After the “Born in the U.S.A.” artist called out the “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration” in front of a crowd in Manchester, England, last May, Trump lashed out on Truth Social.
“Never liked him, never liked his music or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — just a pushy, obnoxious JERK,” he wrote at the time.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is clearly not backing down, as he also called out Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller for the “dirty lies” surrounding the shooting deaths of Good and Pretti at the hands of ICE agents.
“Their claim was self defense, sir / Just don’t believe your eyes,” Springsteen sings. “It’s our blood and bones / And these whistles and phones / Against Miller and Noem’s dirty lies.”
