Brittany Yeng: The Chemist-Turned-Entrepreneur Disrupting The Spirits Industry

Skrewball Whiskey

Brittany Yeng has defied expectations in the traditionally male-dominated spirits industry, co-founding Skrewball, the first-ever peanut butter whiskey brand.

A chemist-turned-attorney, Yeng transformed a creative peanut butter whiskey shot from her family-owned bar into an international sensation, leading one of the fastest market rollouts in spirits history. Now, Skrewball is expanding globally, with recent success in Australia, Canada, and beyond.

The idea for Skrewball began at Yengs restaurant and bar in the Ocean Beach neighborhood of San Diego, Calif., where a peanut butter whiskey cocktail became a crowd favorite. Her husband and co-founder, Steve Yeng, who immigrated as a refugee from Cambodia, developed the drink as a tribute to his love for peanut butter — an unfamiliar but fascinating flavor in his new home. The cocktail quickly became a bestseller, known for its unique mix of smooth whiskey and creamy peanut butter.

Recognizing the potential for something bigger, the couple set out to create a standalone spirit that could be enjoyed neat or in cocktails. Brittany Yeng used her background in chemistry to perfect the formula, ensuring a balance between sweet and savory flavors. The result was Skrewball — a whiskey that broke traditional molds and embraced the idea of celebrating individuality.

Since its launch, Skrewball has gained a loyal following, offering a whiskey experience unlike any other. More than just a drink, it represents the unconventional, the misfits, and those who dare to be different — just like its founders. As Yeng continues to expand Skrewballs global reach, she stands as a testament to innovation in the industry.
